When I first pulled it out of the box, I was immediately smitten- I'm an art director by trade and I appreciate well constructed, beautiful objects. The craftsmanship on this is really tight. We had talked awhile about the various details and you executed everything I asked for perfectly, and for the parts where I had been unsure and deferred to your judgement- I'm really glad I did.

It's really striking- that's for sure- I'm glad I picked the Brick House box.  I also really like the fact that you have the signed/date/number plate hand burned and screwed on the back- it's a great reminder that this a hand made instrument.

I've played a 6 string since I could hold one, and a banjo for about 12 years. I have one other cigar box guitar that is strictly a slider, so I was eager to try this one out. I like the action you set. It's easy to play and sounded nice acoustically. The real treat was when I plugged it into that Vox amp though. I have to admit, from my experience trying to amplify banjos, I was a little skeptical about the pick up, but decided you knew what you were doing and I should trust you on that one. Once again, glad I did. That pick up sounds fantastic. I really can't believe the tones that come out of it. Volume wise, it more than stands up to the single coil in my other box, and from a tone standpoint, it's warm, thick- really nice. Depending on how I set the amp I can get clear ringing tones or deep dark and growly. I love that there's really nothing else that sounds quite like that.  Plus it looks cool :)

I also like how the neck is done. It reminds me a bit of the neck on a vintage style parlor guitar I have- the shape is great- it's comfortable and solid and you can really dig your thumb into the back of it. That probably sounds weird but I'm up and down the neck a lot when I play, and I like to be able to do that.

All in all, I think once word gets out- and it seems to be getting out :) - people are going to be lining up to buy these things, and you're going to find yourself with more demand than supply. It's clear that a lot of time went into this, and I'm really glad that I got my slackjack guitar before there's a 6 month waiting list!!

Thanks again,
Terry
